What is the 7th Tradition?

In Overeaters Anonymous, we have 12 Traditions that guide how we work together as a group. OA has no dues or fees for membership. According to our Seventh Tradition, we are self-supporting through our own contributions and sale of publications. OA does not solicit or accept outside contributions.

We encourage newcomers to not donate initially and instead purchase OA literature to get you started.

We encourage OA members to give as they are able. Suggested donations are mentioned at each meeting. The contributions go to different parts of our organization to help carry the message of OA to other compulsive overeaters.

Members attending virtual meetings contribute by sending contributions to the group’s treasurer. At in-person meetings, they “pass the basket” to cover expenses.

Send Zelle contributions to treasurer@triangleoa.org; after you specify the amount, please “Add a message” with your meeting number if it’s from a group.
